Born in the Black Country, David gained a degree in art at Wolverhampton College. After teaching for three years in Devon in 1989 he became a professional artist.
As a watercolourist he uses the English technique of many transparent washes allowing only the white of the paper to create the highlights.
David is presently working on a series of paintings based on the productions of the Birmingham Royal Ballet with great emphasis on dynamic composition and colour.

A leading demonstrator for the S.A.A. He has always been interested in the sea. Despite having a mass of marine photographs, he paints entirely from imagination.
Roy now has an enviable reputation as a seascape artist and demonstrator. He is also author of the book 'Sea & Sky in Oils'.
Eric is a self-taught artist from Bromsgrove who specialises in sympathetic detailed portraits of animals and birds. He first started drawing commissions in 1985 alongside working on his smallholding with a large selection of farm animals and showing, judging and breeding English setters. In 1994 he started his Jacquerii Studio and became a full time artist.
He likes to utilize light and shadow using a unique and bold combination of pastel, pencil, acrylic, gouache and watercolour to build up detailed and lifelike artworks.
Carole Baker R.B.S.A. was born in Lichfield. She trained as a Graphic Designer and ran her own business for 18 years. In 2007 she turned to painting full time. Carole is a full member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists regularly exhibiting there.
Inspired by the landscape, she strives to use bold, vibrant colour and texture, creating exciting and evocative paintings.
Tim specialises in the portrayal of buildings, gardens and cityscapes. He works mostly in watercolour and has travelled throughout Europe and the USA.
He has a degree in fine art and has worked professionally for 20 years, exhibiting with the Royal Watercolour Society, the Royal Institute of Watercolourists and many provincial galleries throughout the country.
We welcome back John. His demonstration 'My Life as a Courtroom Artist' was both interesting and humorous and proved very popular.
He is an ex-member of the British Society of Artists in oils, pastels and acrylics and has many awards for his work. During his professional life he was a courtroom artist for YTV and various newspapers.
Jan has been teaching art from her studio in Warwickshire for 10 years. She learned to paint in the USA at the Silvermine Guild of Artists where the watercolourist Charles Reid taught.
Jan is comfortable using any media. She particularly tries to capture mood in her work using light and colour to enhance her subject matter.
Robert is a self taught artist specialising in portraiture. His favourite medium is oil but he is familiar with most other mediums including watercolour, coloured pencils, acrylic and pastel. His new medium is 'Digital' painting with the aid of his computer, two monitors, graphics tablet and an A4 printer.
'Work along with Angela' - A mini workshop evening tutored by the President of our Society. Working from Still Life you will each be able to paint or draw using the medium of your own choice.
Angela's previous 'hands on' demonstrations have proved to be very popular.
A local artist from Lichfield, Roger has a varied backgound from art director to fashion photographer. His interests include aviation, architecture and design. He has recently returned to his first love of painting in oils and pastels, and his work sells worldwide.
